President and CEO
Mr. McDermott joined Dedicated Transport in October of 1989 after a successful 10 year career with Leaseway Transportation. During his tenure at Leaseway, Mr. McDermott was responsible for sales and marketing activities in the dedicated contract carriage group. In 1985 he relocated from Cleveland to the Leaseway office in Brea, CA. where he assumed the position of Vice President, with responsibility for all of the sales and marketing activities in the western half of the country.
Mr. McDermott returned to Cleveland in 1989 and along with Frank Wagner started Dedicated Transport with one truck and driver. Today the company has grown to 130+ employees and is quickly approaching $20 million in annual sales. In January of 2013, Mr. McDermott assumed the position of President and CEO of Dedicated Transport, responsible for the overall growth and profitability of the company.
Director of Operations
Mr. Jarus joined the Company in 1995 as Director of Operations. As such, Mr. Jarus has been extensively involved in nearly all aspects of the Company, including Sales, Logistics, Fleet Management and Employee Relations. Prior to Dedicated, Mr. Jarus worked 10 years at Leaseway Transportation in operations and ascended to the role of area manager. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics and a minor in Education from Xavier University.
Mr. Connolly has been Director of Logistics since joining the Company in 2001. Prior to joining Dedicated, Mr. Connolly held various management positions with FedEx Logistics from 1995 to 2001 and “K” Line America from 1988 to 1995. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Hiram College.
Director, Safety & Human Resources
Mr. Hartman joined the Company in 1993 and is currently the corporate Director of Safety & Human Resources. Prior to joining Dedicated Transport, Mr. Hartman held positions in operations and safety management with Leaseway Transportation. Mr. Hartman began his career in 1982 and has held supervisory positions with JC Penney, R.L. Polk and Riser Foods. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1982.
