Our History

Dedicated was formed as Dedicated Transport, Inc. in June 1988 as an expansion of a truck leasing company owned by the Manfredi family. The Company’s original mission was to provide Dedicated Contract Carriage services to shippers located in Northeast Ohio. Frank Wagner, a 23-year veteran executive with Leaseway Transportation, was hired as President and managed to aggressively grow the Company. Tom McDermott, another Leaseway veteran executive with ten years experience, joined the Company in 1989 as Senior Vice President and focused on sales and marketing. In 2008, the company celebrated its 20th Anniversary and supports customers in numerous industries throughout the Eastern United States.

In December, 2004 Frank Wagner and Tom McDermott acquired the assets of the Company which was renamed Dedicated Transport, LLC. In March, 2007 Dedicated acquired the assets and customer base of Baker’s Transport Service, Inc. which expanded the geographic footprint of Dedicated into Florida.
