Lime Slurry Recycling
The Lime Slurry Recycling process begins at the water treatment plant where lime is used to treat ground water for drinking. Many municipalities use lime for improving the quality of drinking water, arsenic removal and water softening. The byproduct of the water treatment process is a slurry of lime and water. Dedicated Transport eliminates the need for a water treatment plant to manage this byproduct by transporting it to local power plants.
Once transported to the power plant, the lime slurry is injected into the flue gas scrubber removing toxic contaminants before the air is released into the atmosphere.
Regulatory agencies within the state of Florida have embraced the Lime Slurry Recycling Program. It eliminates what was once a potentially hazardous waste product and recycles it for an environmentally–friendly purpose.
